homeAir
Miniaturized droplet-based air-sampler
to capture and preserve pathogens from the air
Collect high-quality air samples anywhere
homeAir is a battery-powered air sampling device (small black box to the left of the computer) that collects aerosols to provide information on the landscape of aerosols in the room.
homeAir can be placed in any environment (e.g., homes, offices, schools, hospitals, playgrounds, farms) and then sent back to a lab for analysis.

Simple battery-powered air sampling solution
Inspired by wet scrubbers, homeAir is fundamentally different from existing portable air samplers by using aerosolized microdroplets to capture aerosols in personal spaces (e.g., homes, offices, schools). homeAir is the size of a small teapot, can be operated without specialized training, and can capture pathogens or other particulates in the air and combine them with a liquid stabilizer reagent for shipping back to the laboratory for analysis.
homeAir includes a detachable and disposable consumable that allows simple and clean operation. The consumable contains all the areas exposed to the captured sample and air. The base contains the electronics, batteries, piezo aerosol generator, and fans.
